I also told you on the nextPVR forum that I tested timeshifting on my Windows 10 laptop and everything worked properly so this is a platform issue specific to the RPi4.Īs far as the player stopping randomly, I see I'm not the only one complaining about that problem. I specifically stated that 1080i timeshifting is working correctly.

NPVR MPEG 2 DECODER WINDOWS 10 720P
This is not the same problem because the timeshift problem I reported only happens on the RPi4 platform and only with 720p video. I'm questioning your reading comprehension. However this seems to be a duplicate post of this problem …2788&pid=558166#pid558166 and it is not clear why you don't pursue it there because that problem was a backend problem. The other problem clearly requires your Kodi debug logs. Did you follow my suggestion here …2601&pid=556458#pid556458 to reduce the timeshift buffer size? You never responded. It's not as feature-rich, but it's straight forward. For problem #1 I've already told you the timeshift logic has changed …2585&pid=556141#pid556141 I am not sure why you don't get it and keep asking this question. I prefer using the Kodi client over NextPVR's own client. For a popular tuner, I'd expect NextPVR to perform great. It works, even for my terrible USB tuner. Since I never got a guide installed, I can't actually tell how well this performs. It does the "once, weekly, etc" you'd expect. NextPVR has some advanced recording settings.

I never found a future recording listing on the PC, but I'd still assume the PC's recording service did the work. Times were displayed in 12h but the settings window were shown in 24h. It was simple to set up a "timer" to record a specific channel for a period of time. The first recording I made was using Kodi and not the NextPVR client on the PC. This can be a huge program if you don't have a static address assigned for the PC. NetBIOS names didn't work, so an IP address had to be used. Connecting the Client on Kodi worked the first time. The "Server" settings are placed under "Clients". Setting up NextPVR to be remotely accessed was pretty easy, but the settings are a bit hidden. The "+" button under Configuration>Channels didn't do anything. I had to manually edit the XML file to add in channels that I knew that existed. The Channel Scan also didn't perform well. Nothing I did worked, so I've no idea how well this function performs. NextPVR integrates external guides, but most of those sources are subscriber-based or extremely hard to get working. Getting the channels added to quite some time, since I had to guess at the XML settings to use. After looking up a nice quick-start tutorial, I was able to watch live TV in about 2 minutes. I didn't have to do any external configuring to get it to work. The device automatically showed up under Configuration>Devices on NextPVR. I, also, required an AC3 decoder, but the MS DTV-DVD decoder worked for this. Luckily, I've the Nvidia decoder still installed for the OnAir previously. For my tuner, it needed having an MPEG2 decoded.

Playing live TV on the PC requires a bit of external configuration. My Kodi is running off of an embedded device using the NextPVR client, so it's not a Linux device that can run NextPVR.
NPVR MPEG 2 DECODER WINDOWS 10 HOW TO
After figuring out how to install the non-signed drivers on Win10 (which I didn't do for Win7), I gave the Kodi + NextPVR combo a shot.įor my setup, I'm running NextPVR on my PC. I dusted off my old USB tuner (OnAir GT) from the defunct Automwave. I'll switch to a DSTB if I have to, but want a solid solution before I make a trip to the cable store. haven't really yielded one solid option that works with my cablecard. I'm willing to buy whatever I need to, but Google searches, forum searches, etc.
NPVR MPEG 2 DECODER WINDOWS 10 ACTIVATION KEY
I've tried the WMC for Windows 10 download with the "Run As" bat, reboot, Run As, but it will eventually fail on the activation key inside WMC (everything I have is licensed and activated, so I'm not sure that workaround doesn't work for me). Without Windows Media Center, I did buy a licensed copy of WinTV 8 from Hauppauge, but my cable provider DRMs every channel basically (sans ESPN) so the DRM channels will not broadcast in WinTV8. I just built a new rig with Windows 10, but before I completely switch over, I need to figure out what I need to buy / download / configure so that I can have a similar setup on Windows 10. Old Windows 7 + Windows Media Center + Hauppauge 2650 + Cablecard user.
